🚫 When should you NOT get a piercing?
As cool as piercings are, sometimes it’s not the right time. There are clear situations where you’re better off waiting—or even skipping a piercing altogether. Ella explains when you should be cautious.
❌ These situations are a no-go for fresh piercings:
- Acute infections or fever – your immune system has other priorities right now.
- Blood-thinning medication – consult your doctor first.
- Skin issues at the spot – e.g., eczema, acne, psoriasis.
- Pregnancy & breastfeeding – hormonal fluctuations = higher healing risk.
- Unclear allergies – do a material test beforehand!
- Sports or vacation plans right after – think sweat, chlorine, sand.
- Infectious diseases – hepatitis, HIV, pneumonia, tuberculosis, …
🧠 Mentally, it should be the right fit too
People who get pierced under pressure, out of spite, or during stressful phases often regret it. Ella’s advice: come relaxed, because you want it—not due to peer pressure.
💬 Advice instead of risk
Ella will tell you honestly if and when your desired piercing is possible—or whether you should wait a bit longer. That protects you from inflammation, poor healing, or trouble later on.
