A tongue piercing is eye-catching and versatile—and surprisingly straightforward when it’s done properly. Here you’ll find everything about the process, risks, speech, eating & healing.
🔹 How is it pierced?
- Vertically through the center of the tongue
- Jewelry: titanium barbell
- Numbing? Not necessary—but cooling gel on request
🔹 Pain & swelling?
- Pain level: medium—many say “not bad at all”
- Swelling: normal for 3–5 days
- Ice cubes & chamomile tea help a lot
🔹 Speech & eating?
- First few days: a lisp is possible, usually gone after 3–7 days
- Soft foods, no acidic foods, no alcohol
- After about 2 weeks, you can eat & speak normally again
🔹 Healing & jewelry change
- Healing: about 4 weeks
- Then switch to a shorter bar
- Ella will change it for free in the studio if needed
🦷 Watch your teeth!
Don’t hit your teeth with the ball. Ella uses suitable PTFE jewelry for sensitive enamel.
