Why a dragon?
The Asian dragon stands for wisdom, strength, protection, and spiritual power. Unlike the Western dragon, it doesn’t symbolize destruction, but growth, inner power, and harmony with nature.
Especially among women, the back dragon is a popular motif—it combines softness and wildness, dynamism and grace.
Technique: One color? Only at first glance.
Even though the tattoo was done exclusively in red, this design holds tremendous depth and detailed work:
- Soft color gradients from deep burgundy to bright highlights
- Scale details with precise texture that adapts to the body’s shape
- Light and shadow work exclusively in shades of red—no black
- A compositional line that hugs the spine perfectly
