Some projects are not only technically demanding – they also carry a strong emotional story. This large-scale cover-up of an old rose with lettering is exactly such a case. And the result speaks for itself. 🙌
🖤 The backstory:
The client had lived with a tattoo for years that she could never truly accept. The lettering was no longer legible, the rose looked isolated and not harmoniously placed.
Worse still: Six tattoo artists had turned down the project. Too risky, too complicated – “we won’t touch that” was the most common response. Understandably, she had basically given up.
But then her boyfriend brought her to my studio – with little hope, but still one last attempt.
🧠 My approach:
I knew immediately: Yes, this is challenging – but by no means impossible. The key was not simply to hide the original rose and old text, but to integrate them into a new, harmonious overall design.
🎨 The result:
A large-scale, flowing floral arrangement with expressive roses, botanicals, softly flowing lines – and a subtle butterfly as a loving detail.
Over several intensive sessions, a completely new work of art emerged that not only covers the old flaw, but has transformed it.
The once unwanted spot is now a real eye-catcher, with depth, sensuality, and character. 🔥💮
💧 The client could hardly believe it in the end – tears of joy when she took that final look in the mirror. And the best part:
She has since brought half her family to get tattooed – that’s how much the new tattoo convinced her. 💬💞
